President "Teddy Bear" Roosevelt
Now
here is a fella that really takes his namesake (Theodore Roosevelt/26th
President of the United States), very seriously. He even had a "Rough
Rider's" D
uniform made, hat and all, just so he could look more like him. You may
notice that he has decorated his living room to look like the White
House's Oval Office. He has asked everyone he meets to call him Mr.
President and they do it happily, with a little laugh under their
breath. That's Richard (Ricky) Roosevelt out there in the hall. He is "Mr. President's" nephew and Teddy pays him some money to act like he is a Marine bodyguard whenever a class of cubs from a nearby school are coming over to learn about his - I mean, the REAL President Roosevelt's life. He is an expert on all of the presidents, but especially the 26th. After all, Teddy - uh, "Mr. President" - was an American history teacher back in Minnesota before retiring to Rubysville Heights. Naturally, he had a Marine's costume made for Ricky, so he could look like a real soldier. When he's not being the president, he is just a regular fella and one of the little league baseball coaches. He named his team, Rough Rider's and that didn't surprise anyone. Even when playing baseball, the cubs still call him, "Mr. President". |
